Coral Springs Charter recently held their annual “PowderPuff Game”, where the ladies play Flag football, and the gents cheer for them! Each grade, Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior and Senior, get into teams to play against the opposing grades!
In the first game, the Sophomores played the Seniors. Although the Seniors defeated the Sophomores, it was a close game and everyone had a blast. Sophomore Juliette Beauregard said that “This was very different from all of the other SGA events that I attended so far. Although we lost, I still had a blast, and would definitely play again Junior year!” On the other hand, Senior Tori Tedesco said “I thought it was a good game between us and the Sophomores, but we ended up on top! I had so much fun and wish that I could do it one more year!” Sophomore Brandon Ward said “I think that it was a great time and I really enjoyed hyping up the crowd and cheering for the Sophomore team!” While Senior Julian Lujan stated that “I think it was an awesome experience, especially when I tried to fly!”
In the next game, the Freshmen faced the Juniors and absolutely crushed them! When the Freshmen beat the Juniors, everyone was super excited because the Freshmen don’t usually win the PowderPuff Game. Freshman Sadie Suarez said that “It was really fun, but also super stressful. It was also very exciting that the Freshmen came through and beat the Juniors!” While Junior Sophia Llano stated that “It was very humiliating getting defeated by the freshmen, but my teammates and I still had a lot of fun!” For the cheerleaders, Freshman Dante Harris states that “Beating the juniors was one of the most exciting moments of the year so far! I had so much fun cheering for the Freshmen, and hope to do it again next year!”, while Junior Michael Streder said that “It felt good, exhilarating, and overall fun to cheer!”
In the final game, the Freshmen played the Seniors…Most expected the Seniors to win and the Freshmen energy was down. The Freshmen outperformed the Seniors and ended up winning the whole PowderPuff Game series! No one could have ever seen this coming but in the end, everyone had fun and the Freshmen have a memory and bragging rights that are sure to last!
