Sophomore Bryson Stawicki has been making a significant impact on the varsity boys soccer team this season, proving himself to be a key contributor to the team’s overall success. He has showcased athleticism and leadership on the field and his growth as a player has been evident.
Starting early, Stawicki joined varsity Freshman year as a right and left back. “It was so fun playing that first year and getting to meet new people and make so many new friends and memories.” Sophomore Bryson Stawicki. Nonetheless, It is expected that he will continue to grow into an even more influential player on the team, not just the seasons ahead, but also his junior and senior year.
Stawicki tends to train almost everyday but on some occasions he won’t train on specific Fridays and Sundays leaving him little time. In addition to this, he has games and practices throughout the week, with tournaments across the state and country. Despite this busy schedule, he manages his time well by getting everything he needs to get done completed before soccer and after he plans ahead of the day to make sure he has time for everything.
Stawicki is such a valuable player to his team because of his deep understanding of the game. His soccer IQ allows him to adapt to different roles and situations, making him a reliable player. This includes circumstances where he is either defending in the backline or pushing forward on the wing. No matter what, he knows exactly what is expected in each position and can execute it with precision.
Additionally, Stawicki has great speed, stamina and strength which all help him succeed with both attacking and defending. Along with this, he makes excellent passes and creates many chances to score goals. With his thorough understanding of the game, he can quickly access specific situations, helping him to make smart and fast decisions.
“My favorite part about soccer is how complex of a sport it is and how fun it is learning new things about it.” Sophomore Bryson Stawicki. For the upcoming season, he is excited about playing in the UPSL and winning more games for varsity and his club. He is determined to improve throughout the year which will be filled with many opportunities for him.
