Dear Panthers,
In this issue of the Panthers Playbook, I’m excited to share insights into the girls’ and boys’ soccer and basketball teams as they prepare for victory in their season with passion and dedication.
Starting with the soccer team: On Monday, December 9th, the girls’ and boys’ varsity teams faced off against Franklin Academy at home. Both teams started their week amazingly, bringing back the win. The girls triumphed with an 8-0 score and the boys delivered a dominant 4-0.
On Tuesday, December 10th, the varsity teams enjoyed a well-deserved rest after their victories, while the JV teams took off Calvary Christian Academy. With hard work and dedication, the JV boys won, 3-0.
Finally, on Friday, December 13th, the JV boys played a hard-fought game against Somerset Academy, finishing with a 0-0 tie. Despite the tie, the team worked with determination to end evenly and avoid a loss.
Next up, the basketball teams: On Monday, December 9th, both the JV and varsity boys went up against Franklin Academy and delivered a successful win. The varsity boys celebrated with a score of 71-33. As the JV boys celebrated a victorious 39-18 win.
On Wednesday, December 11th, the girls varsity team played at home against Taravella, winning 66-31. Special shoutouts to senior Jayde Riley, who led the team with 20 points, and sophomore Cameron Thiele, who earned six assists and seven rebounds.
On the same day, the varsity boys faced off Oxbridge Academy, gaining another win for the season, 63-54.
On Thursday, December 12th, the varsity boys played Highlands Christian. This match was very challenging for our players, and even though they put their all on the court, the team fell short, losing 54-63 in a closely contested match.
