Staying active throughout the year can be difficult. No matter if it’s because of school or because of the lack of motivation, staying active and keeping up with new or previous goals that you are trying to complete or get completed could be a challenging task. Here are some ways you could stay active in the new year of 2025.
1. Easy and Free
Taking a walk around your neighborhood, a local park, or local beach is something that’s free but also beneficial to staying active. Whether it’s taking your dog for a walk, walking around with friends or family, or simply walking around by yourself while listening to your favorite music walking is a good way to stay active, as it helps build your stamina, make your heart healthier, and according to mayoclinic.org, walking tends to strengthen your muscles and bones as well. To make your walks more entertaining or enjoyable, try finding new neighborhoods or parks that you could take a walk around. Take advantage of your local parks and neighborhoods.
2. Set logical goals
Setting goals to stay active can help you ensure that you stay engaged while also maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Rather than setting goals knowing they likely would not be possible to complete and end up not completing them, you should try to set logical goals you know you will be able complete and stay on track with. For a general and reachable goal, try to aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day. If you tend to have a busy schedule, try to break up the 30 minutes through your day, for example, that’s 15 minutes in the morning and 15 in the afternoon. Think about what “staying active” means to you, whether thats to lose weight, build muscle, or simply going on a walk or a run each or every other day.
3. Staying Motivated
Staying motivated can be challenging, but it also could be a rewarding journey. There are many ways you can try to stay active, whether it’s asking a friend or friends to join you on a walk or a trip to the gym, setting reminders on your phone, or having a digital buddy to help you out with staying on track. Maintaining your progress and looking back at how far or how much you’ve completed can help your mind on being motivated to keep going. If you think about the reasons why you’re trying to stay active and motivated, think about the long term results and effects that choosing to stay active will have on you.
