On January 7th, the varsity boys soccer team had their senior night game against the Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes. It was a home game at Cypress Hammock Park and the Panthers came out victorious with a 2-1 win.
The match was tense due to the loss the Panthers took against the Golden Tornadoes during last year's season. Tensions were high and competitive. Pompano scored the first goal but then led to a tied score after Emanuel Cammacho scored for the Panthers. Finally, Khaleel Suntherland scored the game winning goal. Making the final score 2-1.
Everyone then celebrated the seniors by making signs with pictures of their faces and positive messages, as well as flowers and gifts. Parents, teammates, teachers, and friends all celebrated the seniors with love and kindness.
After being asked about how these moments felt, Senior Jaxson Goldstein exclaimed "Having all my loved ones celebrating me during my last year felt extremely bittersweet. I felt very appreciated."
Another Senior player, Emanuel Matos added on by saying "It was a great feeling to win during this game, and I'm very proud of our team for making this such a great night for all of us."
The game ended in a win for the Panthers and avenged their last year’s loss. The Panthers had a great evening and a successful 2024-2025 season senior night.
