DECA states is about to kick off and a couple of special students have made the cut. Students can’t wait for the experience that states have awaiting them and have prepared and worked hard for this moment. In this article we will get a deeper understanding of what went into DECA states for both teachers and what they are looking forward to.
DECA states is an accomplishment to many due to only a select few being chosen to take part. These students are chosen by how they do on the test. As a result, the chosen students have studied hard and out in hours of focused work in order to do well on this test. These hours of work have paid off for these students and now they are looking forward to what states has in hold for them. Sophomore Brooke Patrick states “I studied hard for this test using many resources such a DECA plus and am looking forward to going this experience with my friends and also meeting new faces.” This shows how these students have prepared for this exam and now that they have passed, and that they are excited for the experience
“I have already taken this test before and I am in market so those were helping factors in how I performed on this test. These have gotten me a spot on the list to go to states and I am looking forward to going to universal and meeting new DECA kids,” states Senior Mackenzie Maniscalco. This highlights the many ways students prepared for this test and all the fun that this trip has for the students that are attending.
Not only has a lot gone into states from students but also from the teacher as well. DECA director Mrs. Moore states “DECA has had a good year so far and we have one of the largest competing teams in Florida. To prepare for states, we had officers share knowledge about competing, we had sessions where people could get feedback of on the papers that we are going to submit and also had role play sessions where they can practice. We also have a boot camp coming up where all the competitors are going to practice in front of adults and receive feed back.” This shows the amount of effort and time they put toward States and how they still are working hard in order to be in tip top form for states.
All in all, students that have qualified for this opportunity through their hard work are very excited to be attending this event. The Directors and students have prepared to be their best for this moment and through hours they have put into this they will perform great at states.
