Annabelle Grimaldi has always been fascinated by the acting world. Since she was a little girl, she’s had the amazing opportunity to perform in skits and plays, charming everyone with her amazing talent and lovely passion. As she continues to pursue her dream, her dedication and motivation to become an actor is shining brighter than ever.
Although she’s only performed here for 5 years, she’s been performing for the stage and screen, for way longer. Grimaldi began acting when she was 7 years old and knew right away this is what she wanted to do with her life. She knew she could never leave the surreal feeling of singing, dancing, and embodying a character while a crowd of people watched her as shining lights and lively music surrounded her. As she got older, she not only impacted her personal theatre life, but also her theatre life here at Charter.
Her performing journey began when she was 3 years old, when she started taking dance classes. From these dance classes, she found her passion for the fine arts. Not only did she find her passion through dance, but also through her brother. She had never really dreamt of acting until she saw her brother perform in a production of the Wizard of Oz. After this, she knew she wanted to follow in his footsteps.
Grimaldi still continues to do dance to this day, but she started taking acting classes at 7 years old. The first show she had the amazing experience of playing in was Annie. From this point on, she has taken part in many other plays.
At the age of 10, she started acting professionally. This is when she started to take her passion for acting way more seriously. For a few years, she got the amazing opportunity to play the Hero Kid for the Polar Express show taking place on an actual train. This was one of her bigger shows. This is just one of the many big shows that she has been in. Some of the others include playing the Wicked Witch in Wicked, getting the role of Pinnochio in Shrek the musical, and many more.
Not only does she perform in the arts, but she enrolled in a special Teen Ambassadors acting program. At this program, she gets the chance to go watch and review instrumental performances and acting performances for free in order to see a bigger performing community and learn from others.
All of her past in the arts helped her become the person she is today. She now helps teach theatre and choreograph dances for both middle and high school. Along the way of her performing journey, she not only made lifelong friends but gained a whole family. As she gets older, she never dreams of quitting her passion
