Our Panthers are back on the field this season, and they’re proving they’re not backing down from anyone. After a 2-2 start, the Panthers have had their ups and downs but things are just getting started.
The Panthers faced a tough opponent in their season opener on August 15, falling 56-0 to the American Heritage Stallions. Even after that brutal game, the Panthers weren’t letting it shake their confidence.
In their home opener on August 21, the Panthers secured a thrilling 20-13 overtime victory against Pine Crest. “It felt great to throw the OT winning touchdown to my most trusted recover,” said freshman Quarterback Kai Grey.
Following that momentum, the Panthers traveled to Pembroke Pines Charter on August 29. In a tightly contested matchup, the defense stood tall and secured the narrow 10-8 victory. The win gave the team confidence heading into the midseason stretch.
However, the Panthers faced a setback on September 5 against St. John Neumann. The team struggled to get on the scoreboard in a 38-0 loss.” We’ll bounce back stronger. This loss fuels our determination to improve and come together as a team.” said junior cornerback and wide receiver Christian Clinkscale.
Looking ahead, the Panthers aim to build on their early successes and address areas for improvement in upcoming matchups. Key games include a road trip to Pompano Beach on September 19, the homecoming game against Taravella on September 26, and a visit to Northeast High School on October 3. With a mix of experienced upperclassmen and promising underclassmen, the Panthers are ready to make some noise in the second half of the season.
