Dear Panthers,
The final whistle is approaching for many of our fall teams, marking the close of the regular season and the exciting pivot to the playoffs! This past week was a crucial chapter, defining the momentum that will carry our athletes into the high stakes world of District and more tournaments.
Despite a tough loss in the district semi-finals, the girls varsity volleyball team refused to let their season end. On Tuesday, October 21st, they secured a spot in the first round of regionals, earning a hard fought second chance. The girls entered the regional tournament with renewed determination to compete and extend their time together on the court.
The girls fought hard against Monsignor Pace taking the game to five sets, unfortunately losing and officially ending their season, 2-3. The girls started off with a rough start in the first set, drastically losing 16-25. In the second set the girls warmed up a bit more taking on a fight finishing the set 25-27. In the third set their energy erupted and they won the third set, 25-14, and the fourth set, 25-23. In the fifth set the Spartans energy was unstoppable taking the set from the Panthers and ending the game, 11-15.
Congratulations to our girls varsity bowling team for winning districts. The girls fought hard throughout the whole season to improve and adapt to their new coach, who has brought so much knowledge and gratitude to the team. The girls are thrilled to advance to states and continue their season as strong as ever.
The boys did a wonderful job at districts but unfortunately fell short by a couple of pins.
On Thursday, October 23rd, the football team traveled to Stoneman Douglas to play their last game of the season. Unfortunately the boys lost the game, 6-28. Now they prepare to get better and stronger for their round of Districts.
