Killian O’neill Commitment: Webbers got a good one!

Senior Killian O’neill is a first baseman for the varsity baseball team. For this upcoming season, he is expected to step up and be a powerful leader.

He started his high school baseball career in 2021 and had 10 hits and 8 RBI’s and he was established as a strong defensive player and offensive player with great potential. He is described by varsity coach Max Boling as a hardworking player and very competitive.

Teammates Jeo Hernandez and David Austen are proud of O’neill for his commitment and wish him the best.

“Killian is a really strong player and I am happy he got picked up because I know he is going to do well where he is going. Webber got a good one,” said Senior Jeo Hernandez. Hernandez is a outfielder on the varsity baseball team. Austen shares his opinion about O’neill. “He is a hard player to pitch against. He sees the fastball and knocks it out of the park,” said Austen.

His most notable performance was having one of the two hits playing against Marjory Stoneman Douglas on February 21st. “It was cool to get a hit, especially off that pitcher because he was sitting low 90, so I was happy I got to help my team in any way I could,” said senior Killian O’neill.

O’neill went to a showcase at Webber University during the summer and fell in love with the school immediately. “I got to the school for a showcase and it felt like home. The coaches were so nice and the school was amazing,” said O’neill. “After the showcase, the coach talked to me and said he wants to give me a call and talk about an offer.”

O’neill kept in contact and accepted the offer and announced his commitment through an Instagram post. “I was really excited to commit and play baseball out of high school. I was blessed with the amazing opportunity,” said O’neill.
