The summer of 2024 is right around the corner. People are thinking of what fun summer activities they should do. One of their main options is Rapids Water Park. Rapids is located in Riviera Beach, Florida, only about 45 minutes away from our school. Rapids offers a variety of thrilling waterslides, tasty food, and other water activities to enjoy for the whole family. Hence, why it is a popular tourist attraction for people all over Florida.

Even with tons of thrilling and enjoyable slides at the park, a record-breaking water coaster has opened. This year, Rapids introduced the largest and most thrilling ride in rapids history, “Mega Mayhem”. Rapids states that “Mega Mayhem allows riders to race side-by-side through the exciting 873 foot long water coaster. Unique jet propulsion technology propels riders uphill and around exciting curves, like a rollercoaster on water. Riders can race at speeds of up to 22 mph and see who is winning in “racing zones” where they see each other through low separator wall sections of the slides.” This ride is officially the only one of its kind in all of Florida, and one of the three in the whole of the USA.

Aside from the new slide, there are still lots of other slides to ride. One of the most hyped attractions is the “black thunder”. This slide takes you on a multiple person raft that sends you into twists and turns in complete darkness. Many thrill seekers enjoy the ride, but if thrill is not your cup of tea, don’t you worry. For a more calm experience, there is the lazy river, and more mild slides. There are also many areas for kids that have kiddie slides they will love.

On top of all the attractions. They also offer great food for all guests. The food ranges from things like pizza to salad to even tasty quesadillas. After talking to Alejandro Ruiz, a 9th grader who claims to go to the park frequently during the big break, he says “my favorite food they have to offer has to be the cheese quesadillas. The cheese melted with the tomato’s taste, it was absolutely amazing and I buy it every time I go.” In addition to meals, Rapids offers different desserts. They are known for their delicious funnel cakes. Some even come to the park just to try it!

Students at school seem to really be fond of visiting the waterpark. After talking to over 20 kids, 15 have stated to have visited the park before, and 3 of them even have seasonal passes. The seasonal passes are extremely beneficial to purchase. It is the cost of just one ticket and a half, and you can go anytime you want. Many purchase the pass during break and plan to go every single weekend.

Altogether, Rapids Water Park has become one of the most admired parks in all of the state. People travel from all around just to experience the fun and food it has to offer. We are lucky to live less than an hour away, which explains why many people of all ages decide to go. So, as visitors splash their way into Rapids this summer season, it’s a promised way of experiencing fun in the sun, with thrills and enjoyable moments for everyone.
