Makeup trends form in many different ways. They can be formed after a food, influencer, character, etc. It doesn’t even have to be a look that resembles someone or something, it can just be a way of doing makeup differently. For example, there is a more natural look, such as clean girl makeup. Or a more full coverage look, such as Latina makeup.
All of these different types of makeup trends make it fun for people to find the way they want to portray themselves on the outside. It also lets them improve their skills.

The unreasonable amount of foundation and product used in her routine caused people to want to test it out for themselves. Especially to see if it really looks as good as it does on camera. Katie Fang’s long skincare routine and “clean girl” aesthetic made people want to look like her and recreate her whole routine. As for Tara Yummy, since she is seen as the internet’s “it” girl, everyone wants to be more like her and do her makeup look.
In makeup, characters have always been an enjoyable thing to try to recreate. Recently, a character named Toodles Galore, in the show, Tom and Jerry has been an example of this. Her eyeshadow, red lip, and white fur caught people’s attention. Everyone wanted to recreate the color palette and the cute, but fancy look.
Depending on the area you’re from, makeup can vary in many ways. Many have been trying to do other country’s makeup looks. There is Latina makeup, East Asian makeup, Arab makeup, Desi makeup, etc. Latina makeup is known for its full coverage, matte base and its unique eyebrow style. East Asian makeup is known for their dewy, cool toned, light coverage base and doll-like eye makeup. Arab makeup is known for their siren-like eye looks. There are many more makeup looks that don’t necessarily fit into these categories. Mob wife makeup is a more bold look and consists of siren eyes, a dark lip, eyeshadow, distinguished eyebrows, and full coverage. Cold girl makeup is meant to have a cool toned look. It also consists of a lot of blush to make it look like you’re cold. Goth makeup is striking to the eye and consists of a lot of eyeliner, normally white face paint, and contour.
There are a variety of different makeup trends. They all have a different look to them and serve a different purpose. This is because everyone likes different things. Though some of these trend names sound peculiar, they allow people to find the look they’re going for, and recreating it in their own way.
