This year, the girls JV soccer tryouts were held October 14th through 16th at Cypress Park. The girls have already been practicing day and night to follow their victory last year, and win the championships. The coach of the team, Christian Hinostroza, has been working hard with our lady panthers on their skills and securing more victories. People might say being on the high school soccer team is easy but some girls are new to high school and are making a big leap from 8th grade to freshman year can be hard. Along with working hard at their sport, student athletes also need to keep up with all of their academic requirements. It takes a lot of focus, hardwork, and determination to be a student athlete.
Tessa Tomsey, a freshman here at Charter, made the JV soccer team. She has been playing soccer since she was 4 years old and she thinks her transition has been going smoothly from middle to high school. “I see my team as strong and supportive, and like a family to me,” Tomsey said. Having a team that is close and has a special bond could help them be more cohesive on the field and earn more wins for the team. Soccer is a team effort so they will have to work well together to make it to the championships.
“I see wins in our team’s future if we maintain our hard training and play like a unit.” Tomsey said. Soccer is a team effort so the players get along on and off the field. Working together will be the key way for them to earn a spot in the championship game.
The team works hard every day to achieve their goals. They will be practicing at Cypress Park in Coral Springs all winter season after school. Cypress Park is also where all of the home games will be. You can see their full schedule on https://coralspringscharter.org/ athletic calendar. Students should go show some panther pride and support them by showing up to their games and cheering them on. Lets support our Panthers soccer girls all the way to the Championships! Go Panthers Go!
