Some new players have opinions on starting their first high school season along with returning players’ and changing their mindset going into this season to make it better than last.
“All are more capable of winning a lot of games this year,” said junior Matthew Baptiste. With the work these returning players and newer players have put in this off season, they are ready to make big moves even through tough and higher ranked teams. This year, if played right, can be a memorable and a big season for the charter’s boys soccer team.
“Since I’m new to the team and this is my first year playing for Charter, as much as I’ve seen from the couple of practices with the boys, I believe we have a chance to win some games and overall have a good season.” Said sophomore Samuel Levy. As a new player for the Charter varsity soccer team, he is ready for his first season with the team and believes that he can contribute to the success of the team this year as much as returning teammates.
The soccer team experience is an experience of many things. It’s a place of intense competition, personal growth, team growth, and fun. These are what make these high level athletes come back every year wanting more. Even though there are tough moments these players pick each other up and get stronger.
“My favorite part of the team is that we all are committed to this project because we love this sport and that brings us all together.” Said junior Ricardo Acosta. Even though all these players have different paths as athletes and different goals for their career, the experience of this team and the thought of representing their school by doing the things that they love brings these players to work hard and compete for this team. Through this, these players create a perfect environment for growth and a birthplace for memorable experiences.
“My favorite part of the school team is how we all joke around and have good chemistry. This chemistry is key to not only playing well on the team and having good results, but is also the trigger for a fun filled season of funny memories and laughs that will last for years to come.
