Tonight we honor our seniors as they walk the field with pride and leadership. From their first days as freshmen to finding their passion for soccer to their last. The past four years have been filled with nothing but hard work and dedication. Walking off this home turf for the final time, especially after both Varsity teams had great scores and secured two earned wins.
Connor Mackinlay-Barish, a senior, said, “The best parts about all my seasons at Coral Springs Charter was building chemistry with his teammates.” For Connor, it was not just about the wins; it was about the connection that was built with his teammates along the way. The highlight of his night was “getting the winning goal.” Looking back, if Connor had the chance to tell his freshman self one thing, it would be to “always work, never stop the grind, and never give up.” Over the past few years of Connor playing Varsity soccer, he led each year with leadership and pride. He saw senior night as a night to remember.
Addy Capplis, who has been on Varsity for five years, said her highlight of senior night was “all the support from my family and friends and being with my team.” To Addy, a Varsity jersey is more than a piece of equipment; it’s a sisterhood. Throughout all seasons on Varsity, Addy says, “The best part of all of it was gaining long-term friends who I get to play with.” All of Addy’s seasons were not about the win but about the long-lasting friendships that were made on her journey.
They leave the field tonight with many different feelings of emotion. While the winning scores may fade, the friendships and long-term memories will last a lifetime as each senior moves onto their new chapters in life. As they hang up their jerseys for the last time, they leave behind a team filled with passion and a season filled with unforgettable bonds.
