Seasons are changing and as the spring starts to come so do the spring sports for Charter. Girls flag football is relevantly new since last year was the first year they had created the team. This year they had held tryouts in January at Mullins park. There were about 30 to 40 girls at tryouts and around 20 of them had made the team. This year the team overall is looking forward to growing with each other, learning from their coach and winning as many games as they can.
“I am looking forward to being a better player, bonding with the team and winning.” said Heather Churchill. While also enjoying and appreciating the coaches that put their work and time into helping each girl and encouraging every single one of them.
“I am excited for this season and I am looking forward to working hard and improving throughout the season with my teammates.” said Eva Rodgriguez. She also mentioned that their coach is very motivating and encouraging while also being able to make the team.
The first game of the season is on Feb 18th against South Plantation High School. The team overall is looking forward to putting their all into this season and having a successful, hard working, and fun season. As the girls grow throughout the season many student, staff, and even the parents are excited to see how far this season goes and where it will take our fellow classmates as they continue to move, learn, play and enjoy the game of flag football.
