Winter break is around the corner for Charter students. To get into the Christmas spirit we asked over 160 students at Coral Springs Charter to see what their favorite Christmas song is.

They had the options to choose from “All i want for christmas” by Mariah Carey, “Rockin' around the Christmas tree” by Brenda Lee, “Last christmas” by wham!, and “Jingle bell rock” by Bobby Helms.

Taking 1st place with 62 votes was “Last Christmas” by Wham!. A synth-pop holiday classic from the 80s (1984). Fun fact about “Last Christmas” is that George Michael wrote and produced the entire song by himself playing every instrument.

Taking 2nd place with 46 votes was “All I want for Christmas” by Mariah Carey. This classic, released in 1994 became one of the best-selling songs INSTANTLY and still played to this day.

Next in 3rd place with 41 votes was “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms. Released in 1957.The song was first released in 1957, this upbeat song continues to be a favorite on the holiday playlist.

Lastly, taking 4th place with 12 votes was “Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee. Released in 1958. Believe it or not this song was recorded when Brenda Lee was just 13 years old!
