On July 15, 2016, Netflix released the first season of Stranger Things. Nearly 4,000 days ago, this Netflix original series left a long-lasting impact on society and continues to spread its influence today. Over the years, Stranger Things has accumulated multiple prime time Emmy Awards, People’s Choice Awards, a Peabody Award, and many more accolades. Since the first four episodes of Stranger Things season 5 were released on November 26th, let’s discuss what to expect from the rest of the season and some fan theories.
First, it is possible that a main character will die in this season. Fans have been speculating that Lucas Sinclair, played by Caleb McLaughlin, will be the giant death of the season. The Season 5 trailer shows Lucas in some type of trouble. Another character facing a possible death is Robin Buckley, played by Maya Hawke. Many fans on social media have been pointing out the increased screen time Robin has been getting this season. This new key role given to Robin could be alluding to her death. A more obvious death this season could be Vecna, played by Jamie Campbell Bower. There’s a strong possibility that the season ends with justice being served and Vecna dying.
In season 5, part 1, of Stranger Things, Max Mayfield is able to hide in a cave found in Henry Creel’s memories to stay away from him. It’s a rare sight to see Henry (Vecna) afraid of something. It is possible that this is a hint for the next part of season 5. Fans who have watched the prequel play of Stranger Things (The First Shadow) understand why Henry was so afraid. In the play, Henry gets into contact with the Mind Flayer for the first time at the cave. Following this contact, Henry’s personality and blood type were changed. Hopefully we get even more answers to this in the next part of season 5.
Finally, Season 5 isn’t going to have an overload of deaths. The Duffer Brothers, creators of Stranger Things, have confirmed that this season of Stranger Things isn’t going to be a massacre.
There are hundreds and thousands of theories regarding Stranger Things season 5; however, we’re going to have to sit tight and wait until December 25th to see whether we were right or wrong. This Christmas, volume 2 of Stranger Things season 5 will be the best gift fans could ask for.
