Wicked. The movie that shaped lives and impacted many people. But most importantly, impacted the fans of Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. With the grammy's ending, there are many concerns why wicked: for good didn't get nominated for anything, but voters have the answer to this.

As the wicked movies was making their appearance to theaters, its no doubt to notice the strong and what some might say "creepy" relationship between Cynthia and Ariana. There have been many cases where people notice that they might be too close for just friends or have even made memes out of their interactions.

One of the most popular memes made out of Cynthia and Ariana is "holding space." During interviews, these 2 girls would be touching each other nonstop and constantly hugging or holding hands which made fans grow skeptical about their relationship and the way they act with each other.

Although all this is true, an anonymous voter for the grammy's stated that "The movie wasn't that great. The two have amazing on-screen chemistry but spent most of the movie apart." Along with this, an Academy member added "I was also just completely turned off by their promotional performances, they creeped a lot of people out and in their rush to feel authentic, came off as cosplaying."

Erivo said that "We walk hand-in-hand very often, like, if we're not walking hand-in-hand, we'll find each other somewhere."

Many people, fans and higher authority figures, believe that wicked: for good genuinely wasn't a good movie not only because of the relationship between Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. They believe that wicked: for good is a major downgrade from the first wicked movie that got released in 2024.

Because of all this and all the negativity that was received from the movie was the leading reason why it got no nominations for the 2026 Grammy awards.

Some fans still stand strong by both wicked movies and the relationship between Cynthia and Ariana and believe that they should have deserved to win.
