Evermore, Taylor Swift’s ninth studio album, was released through Republic Records on December 11.

Evermore is the ninth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on December 11, 2020, through Republic Records, less than five months after Swift’s eighth studio album, Folklore.

Evermore is a curated masterpiece that implores tales of destiny, fate, and love. The songs carry a woodland earthy tone using drums and vocal range to disperse exceptional musical euphony.

Swift creates a framework and embroils raw creativity, as her voice serves as a guide to her story.
There is pure poetic lyricism, and sonically fabricates a rhapsody. In willow the bridge reads “Life was a willow and it bent right to your wind, but I come back stronger than a ‘90s trend.” Swift implies that her comeback to music is akin to the resurgence of 1990’s treads which reemerged in 2020.

Some Instruments include Piano, Harp, Guitar, Violin and Banjo. Swift’s acoustic striped down articulation provides a warm comforting welcome. It stages away from the preppy primed pop Prima Dona we visualize the artist as.

The framework Swift creates can be understood by harmony and chord progression. The wiring behind the scenes is eccentrically simple. Swift often refers to notes or a central base and constructs dynamic harmony. In songwriting, harmony typically refers to using chords. A chord progression in Western style harmony moves the song towards a satisfying musical conclusion, usually I or the Tonic Chord (The C Major chord in the key of C Major). Harmony is like the various parts of a machine working as a cohesive unit, the parts produce a central function.

Willow is the first lead single off of evermore. Willow attained well rounded success in less than 24 hours debuting via YouTube. Swift told fans that the bewitching ballad is about “intrigue, desire, and the complexity that goes into wanting someone. I think it sounds like casting a spell to make somebody fall in love with you (an oddly specific visual),” she wrote. Willow saunters into the other side of love, the unknown and fathomless.

No Body, No Crime is an enthralling macabre murder mystery number. Swift channels noir storytelling and pairs up with the HAIM Sisters. The song’s plot line tells a tale of a woman named Este, who confronts her exploiting husband. She goes absent and the song’s narrator deduces she was murdered by his mistress. Without the body of the victim the husband cannot be tried for homicide. Este’s friend takes ethics into her own hands and kills the husband, deposit his body in a lake and frames the mistress.

Evermore parts from commercial over popularized pop music. Swift pens herself from admired artists like Super Bowl Halftime Performer The Weeknd. The Weeknd; notorious for singing about R rated activities. The Weekend’s satirized swagger is a stage act. No bond, pure commercialism and deficiently fabricated. Swift in comparison clasps readers with magnetism and engulfs creative autarkical topics on the other side of the spectrum.

In essence, evermore is a drift in perspective. It ushers deep country roots/melodies and orates on the esoteric topics. Each song on the track carries a story.

This is a listen of a lifetime.
