“Becoming Her” is the title of a mentorship program created by an influencer on TikTok, Camilla Araujo. She launched this in early Jan. 2026 to teach others how to build successful online businesses. But what if it was all a scam?
Araujo started this program due to her journey from being an immigrant daughter to a multi-millionaire influencer creator. Due to her building her own career, many young girls look up to her, and this is when she created “Becoming Her.” This program aims to inspire young girls by providing strategies on how to gain views and get paid for all of it.
While most people thought that this could possibly change their life in many different ways the truth behind this seemingly perfect program was released and questioned Camilla's true intentions and her values.
On Jan. 1 2026, Araujo opened the website to the public so that those who wanted to grow their social media platforms could get the resources. Many young girls rushed on the website since it was promoted to be very exclusive and limited.
When you first go on the website you have to watch a two minute video to proceed to the questionnaire. The first questions start pretty normal, with the first one being “do you have at least 1-2 hours a day to put towards learning Araujo’s viral content formula.” The second question is "what is the long-term goal of you posting on social media?” The third question is "what's been the biggest struggle so far in reaching your goals and why do you feel working with Camilla could help you overcome that?” These questions so far seem very personalized and look like they want to help you.
The fourth through sixth question asks basic questions like your name, email, phone number, age and if you are employed. The seventh question is when things become questionable, it asks, “how much money do you have to invest in your social media journey.” This question threw off many due to the lowest option to invest was $1,000 and the highest was $4,500. Especially since this was targeted to young girls these prices are insane, most of these girls don't even have jobs to pay these prices.
If the person chooses anything under $2,500, it will send them to a page where they can pay $67 for some instructions on how to follow trends and target the right audience. But if they choose anything higher than $2,500 they will get Araujo’s team texting them and scheduling appointments to call and take classes to improve their social media.
The reason why everyone on social media was quick to call this a scam is because people are paying thousands of dollars to blow up on social media but not for certain that they will. One case in particular that was shared on TikTok blew up because she exposed Araujo and her team for lying.
To mention again the program was supposed to be very limited and only few could be accepted if they met the requirements. The girl who shared her story was in college and wrote in her responses to the questions about her major, job, age, and more personal stuff about herself to let Araujo know why she should pick her. As soon as Araujo’s team contacted her they asked her all the questions she had already responded to on the application.
This showed that they were only interested in how much money the person was able to invest and didn’t even read the application. Many other people have spoken out about this and have all established that this is a scam and they will not be putting their money towards Becoming Her program.
In summary the Becoming Her program was marketed to change young girls' lives who wanted to become influencers. While Araujo’s journey has aspired to many since she has built her success on her own, many wanted to be like her. While some people have chosen to invest in the program, most believe it's a scam and post about it so others don't fall for it.
