After a much needed week off of school, students are back and excited to share the exciting stories and experiences. From local retreats to international adventures, lets look at what charter did over break.
Junior Thomas Givens traveled to Nashville, Tennessee where he got to experience southern culture. He enjoyed many delicious southern foods such as grits, BBQ, and of course Nashville’s famous hot chicken. He also got to listen to some good country music, even going to the Grand Ole Opry, a famous venue where some of the biggest names in country music will do live shows. Overall Givens enjoyed his time in Tennessee getting to experience southern life.
History teacher Ms. Johanson got to travel across many countries in Europe as part of the Cambridge trip. Her trip included places like Dublin and Belfast in Ireland, along with stops in Scotland and London. On the trip she got to see amazing castles, museums, and historic tours. She said the trip was fun and a unique experience. The Cambridge trip allows students to experience what life is like in other countries and cultures.
Freshman Milan Mason took a different route, she spent her break at a church retreat in Vero Beach, Florida. She focused on faith and friendship, participating in worship sessions, beach activities, campfires, and even some biking. The retreat was a great way for her to relax and connect with God.
Junior Ricardo Acosta has an exciting spring break visiting Universal Studios and Tampa, Florida. He spent time with friends at his hotel games, enjoyed the theme park and exciting rides. Then over in Tampa he enjoyed paddle boarding, spikeball, and the beach. Acosta also made sure to keep up with the March Madness games and even stopped to look at the University Of South Florida. Acosta says this spread break was the best of his life, spending good time with both friends and family.
Sophomore Maya El-Haj went on a cruise to the Bahamas, where she got to participate in a variety of activities both on and off the ship. She swam in pools, enjoyed a water park, went to beaches, and even ice-skated. She said one of her most memorable excursions was feeding pigs, she said it was definitely a first and a fun experience.
Overall, these experiences highlight the many ways to make the most of spring break and prepare to finish the school year strong.
