The 2026-27 model year is looking to be one of the most exciting in years. From trucks, muscle cars, and even hyper cars, here is what to know about the most exciting cars coming out this year.
The biggest headline is probably the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X. The twin turbo 5.5 liter V8 combined with an electric motor puts out an insane 1,250 horse power! This makes it not only the most powerful Corvette ever, but one of the most powerful American cars ever. The car is built on the C8 base with its mid engine design, and similar to the E-Ray, it uses an electric motor to spin the front axle to improve acceleration. This improved acceleration is definitely noticeable as Chevy claims a sub 2 second 0-60. The car is expected to be released early 2026 with prices starting around $210,000.
Ford is also coming out swinging with the 2026 Mustang Dark Horse SC. This car is meant to be a successor to the GT500, using the same supercharged 5.2 liter Predator V8, expected to be putting out 800+ horsepower. The car is designed to be track focused with upgraded, aerodynamics, suspension, and cooling. The car will make its NASCAR debut in 2027 but will be released to the public this spring. The car will likely be around $90,000.
Dodge fan instead? Don’t worry, they are bringing back their gas powered chargers for 2026 with Charger R/T and Scat Pack SixPack. Both models are powered by Dodge’s new 3.0 liter twin turbo “SixPack” inline six engine. The R/T will start at roughly $52,000 and put out around 420hp. The Scat Pack will be around $57,000 and produce 550 horse power.
If you prefer trucks that’s cool too, in 2026 Ram is bringing back the iconic TRX. Ram stopped making them in 2024 but the Ram 1500 SRT TRX was announced on January 1st, 2026. The supertruck packs a supercharged 6.2 liter Hellcat V8 engine. The truck is expected to put out around 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque. With an eight speed automatic and four wheel drive the truck boasts a roughly 3.5 second 0-60 and insane offroad abilities. The TRX will be available in the second half of 2026 with a starting price near $100,00.
